Our family relocated to a higher-risk environment in 2023. Exec Armor walked us through threat assessment, built a B6 Lexus LX 600 that drives like factory, and handled customs into our country end-to-end. Two years on, the car still feels brand new.
We replaced a 14-truck cash-in-transit fleet with Exec Armor B4 Ford Transits. Lead time was honoured to the day, the trucks are reliable in -30°C winters, and their parts desk turns around requests within 48 hours globally. Zero regrets.
I’ve owned three armored sedans across two decades. The Maybach Exec Armor built for me is the only one where the original ride feel survived the armor. Cabin is quiet, suspension is perfect, and the team in Vaughan are professionals top to bottom.
Quick answers to the questions our specialists hear most. Call us at (905) 532-9708 for anything not covered here.
Vehicle armoring is the process of integrating ballistic-grade steel, transparent armor glass, and reinforced structural components into a standard vehicle so that it can defeat firearm, blast and forced-entry threats. The process is far more involved than bolting on a few steel plates. A proper armored vehicle is completely re-engineered: every door, the roof, the floor, the firewall, the rear bulkhead, the pillars, the wheel wells and the fuel system are reinforced with overlapping ballistic plates. The original glass is removed and replaced with multi-layered transparent armor — typically eighteen to forty millimetres thick depending on protection level — that is laminated and engineered to stay in place even after multiple direct hits.
The unseen work is just as important. Run-flat tire inserts let you drive on shredded tires. The suspension and brakes are upgraded to handle the added weight without losing handling. Battery, electrical and fuel systems are re-routed and protected. Door hinges are upgraded to heavy-duty units rated for armored door weight, and the latches are reinforced for forced-entry resistance. On luxury platforms, the original interior — leather, wood, AV systems, climate controls — is carefully removed, the armor installed, and the interior reassembled so that the finished vehicle looks and feels identical to the OEM original from the inside. From the outside, a well-armored vehicle is indistinguishable from a stock model.
The total cost is the price of the base vehicle plus the armoring package. The armoring itself typically runs from CAD $90,000 for a BR4 sedan build to over CAD $350,000 for a BR7 SUV or limousine with full options. Most executive BR6 SUV builds — for example a Cadillac Escalade or Lexus LX 600 — run between CAD $180,000 and CAD $240,000 in armoring on top of the base vehicle price. A BR6 sedan such as the Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7 Series runs CAD $160,000 to CAD $210,000.
Optional features add to the total. Smoke screen, electronic siren and PA, video recording, intercom, GPS tracking and emergency override systems each add between CAD $3,000 and CAD $18,000 installed. International delivery — including ocean freight, customs and documentation — typically adds CAD $8,000 to CAD $25,000 depending on destination. We can source the base vehicle for you or work with one you provide. A detailed itemised quote is provided after a free thirty-minute consultation; the quote is valid for sixty days and is honoured even if our list price rises in the interim. Payment terms are fifty percent on contract, balance thirty days before delivery; international clients can also pay through documentary letter of credit or escrow.
For the vast majority of our destinations, yes — civilian ownership of a B4 through B7 armored vehicle is legal and well-established. In Canada, the United States, most of Latin America, the Caribbean, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, most of Africa and most of Asia, private armored-vehicle ownership is permitted with standard vehicle registration. The vehicle is registered as a passenger car, SUV, truck or van, exactly like the un-armored equivalent.
Some countries — including Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, India and the Philippines — require an additional armored-vehicle permit beyond standard registration. The permit application is straightforward but takes time: typically four to twelve weeks. We prepare all the paperwork our clients need: chain-of-custody documents, ballistic certifications, end-user statements and the original build specification. A small number of jurisdictions — for example certain European Union countries with strict civilian-firearm laws — also regulate which weapon-rated protection levels are available to private buyers; in those cases we can build to a permitted level and document the configuration accordingly. Before any contract is signed, our team confirms the legality of your intended configuration in your country of registration. If something can’t be done compliantly, we tell you up front rather than build a vehicle you can’t register.
